I am Sara Rae, an oil painter working both en plein air as well as in my studio in NH. I mainly paint alla prima (Italian for at first attempt, or all at once). I am drawn to painting still lifes, flowers, and most recently local landscapes. My work is often characterized by thick, expressive brushstrokes. I aim to capture the impermanence of nature and the ever changing light.
